Our Dachshund Breeding Program
Our dachshund’s facility is clean, spacious, and a comfy home environment. They have an oversized recliner that they all can get in. Their home is always climate controlled so that they are never hot nor cold. They have doggie doors so they can go outside any time they like. Their area is cleaned every day and as needed. They have an outside playground and get to stay out a lot.

Monitoring
We monitor our pregnant dachshund moms throughout their pregnancy. We have our adults on a specific prenatal vitamin just to help in the development of the puppies once they start breeding to help ensure we get healthy and high quality puppies. Their gestation period is 63 days. At day 32 we perform an ultrasound at our in house healthcare facility to confirm that they are pregnant. We then check them every other week or so to monitor they growth of the puppies. At day 60 we will switch the mother’s vitamin to one that helps with milk production. We always have the moms on video and audio so at the first sign of labor we are with them to help delivery the puppies. They are given the appropriate medications at the start of delivery and when the delivery is completed. Every puppy is assessed and monitored to make sure they are nursing and growing.

Our Puppies Health
We are always educating ourselves for the betterment of our babies. We have purchased a Puppywarmer Incubator with Oxygen Concentrator. So when babies are born and are hypothermic or hypoxic we can quickly move them into the incubator where they can be at the right temperature and get increased oxygen. We also have nebulizer treatments on hand if any puppies have aspiration pneumonia. We are hoping that this will greatly benefit our at risk puppies and give them the best start at life.

Our Lab
We have our own lab right here on our premises so we can check our dogs and puppies for parasites, worms, and can do other tests so that we can take great care of our dogs. Our puppies are de-wormed every week starting when they are two weeks old. They are given their first 5 in 1 vaccine at at 6 weeks. This will all be maintained on their health record that will go with them to their forever homes. Our adult dog has their own health record that is kept up to date as well. All puppies come with registration papers and a puppy folder.
